North Coast Sunset

Many thanks to Marietta Hughes who has sent the Diary these pictures of the sunset on Friday, 6th June, her first evening on holiday in Kilmory.  Marietta wires, "The shots were taken from the top of Kilmory, on the road towards Ockle. The sun was setting between Canna and Rum but we were lucky to have clear views of all the Small Isles right across to the Cuillins - absolutely stunning!"

Top picture shows, from left, part of Muck, Canna under the setting sun, and the jagged summits of Rum, while the second shows Rum, Eigg and the distant Cuillins on Skye.

This is definitely the year of north coast sunsets!

Many thanks, Marietta.

  1. Wow, such beautiful photos. I was lucky enough to be on Mull the week before to enjoy some wonderful sunsets. The silhouettes of the Small Isles are just magical. Thank you, Jo

  2. As I tell people the best views are on the north coast and this is the king of views you get when staying in Ockle Holidays cottages.
