Kilchoan Ladies today played Uist Ladies in a return match brought about by an injury to a Uist player during the last match, played at Mallaig (picture). Today they met at Oban, and Kilchoan went down to a 5-2 defeat. To make matters worse, Rosie Curtis, one of our star players, has three broken ribs following a collision at the end of the first half.
It was a game filled with drama, with Uist being denied a penalty and Kilchoan being awarded one which they failed to convert. Rachael Haylett was Kilchoan player of the match and scored one of our goals.
Here's hoping that Rosie makes a swift recovery, and that the girls aren't too downcast. The great thing is that they've had another match and there are more to come.
More news and, hopefully, pictures to follow.
