New Coastguard Vehicle

HM Coastguard Kilchoan has a new vehicle, a Mitsubishi L200.  It has a 2.5 litre engine which is more powerful than the old Toyota HiLux, and the machine is less bouncy and firmer on the road, but it's still fairly heavy, so the driver needs to work gears.  Specs aside, it's certainly very smart!

The team took the new truck out for a patrol last night, and were kind enough to bring it round to The Diary's house so an ex-Coastguard could admire it.  It's a great piece of kit, and it's good to see HM Coastguard once again ensuring that its team members, who are only paid for call-outs and training - and then at the national minimum wage - are at least properly equipped.
