Kilchoan Early Bird saw this pigeon knocked out of the sky today by a raptor. Had it not been for a passing car, which disturbed its attacker, it probably wouldn't have survived.
When he took a look at the bird he discovered it was a racing pigeon with the ring number BELG 5171840 - 2010. A quick search on Google confirmed that this pigeon comes from Belgium. We've reported it to the Royale Federation Colombophile Belge via the North East Racing Pigeons website,
here. Meanwhile, the pigeon is alive but in a pretty bad way.

Peregrine the likeliest attacker Jon! How's the Lumix 150 doing. Thinking of saving the pennies a bit longer and getting the 200 which has an F 2.8 lens throughout. Though I am keeping my options open till I hear more on the 200. No rush. Geese and wildfowl don't arrive for a wee while yet. Ca' canny
