Lighthouse Pictures

The Diary makes no apology for posting more pictures of the recent storms as they are sent in as they illustrate how elemental conditions were. Wherever we go we see yet more signs of the damage done: today we started noticing mature trees which have been knocked down like ninepins, and today Jonathan Ball sent a chart of data taken from the anemometer sited on top of the petrol station, which shows winds gusting there to almost 70mph last Thursday and, surprisingly, to a higher 75mph on Tuesday.

This is the bay to the south of the lighthouse, picture taken in October....

....and this shows almost the same scene during the storm.

And this is the bay to the northeast of the lighthouse looking towards Sanna Bay.

Many thanks to Anne Jackson for the pictures of the storm.
