Black Swan Sighting


Many thanks to Kilchoan Early Bird for these two photos of an Australian Black Swan spotted on Lochan na Crannaig this morning.


This is a rare sighting for Ardnamurchan, but a 2009 article by the Telegraph states that these swans are spreading throughout the British Isles and are a threat to our native species.

    I also took photos of this swan near the Glendrian caves last Tuesday . We were sitting admiring the view when it sailed serenely by and returned in the opposite direction about an hour later.
