In the two weeks at the end of July and the beginning of August, West Ardnamurchan packs in a series of events for everyone to enjoy. For a summary of all of them, go to the link -

First off is Kilchoan FC v Coll FC, away, on Saturday 14th July. Tickets for the boat across to Coll are already running out.
West Ardnamurchan Show & Sports, which is on Friday July 20th, starts with stock judging at 9.30am, then the races are at 11.00am. The event continues into the afternoon, with music late into the evening. There are stalls, a baking and produce competition, pet parade, tug-o-war, events for children such as a bouncy castle, a day-long barbeque and licence, and much more. Details of the day are

Kilchoan Regatta is on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th July, with sailing and windsurfing on the Thursday and the main events starting at 8.30am on the Friday. Open to all, races include rowing, kayaking and power boats, and a raft race. The Regatta licensed Dance follows at 8.00pm in the evening. Details and a downloadable 'Programme of Events' are

Sonafest, a weekend festival of music, takes place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30st July. Enjoy Skerryvore, Kenny Bogan & the Lads, Jim Jam Ceilidh Band, Trail West, Gunna Sound and more. The event's website is

Kilchoan Pram Race happens on Friday 3rd August 2012. The theme this year is 'Famous Doubles', entry costs £10 per person with all proceeds going to West Ardnamurchan jetty, and there are two categories, Juniors (10yrs - 16yrs) and Seniors. Prams are on display at Kilchoan House Hotel from 12.00 midday, race starts at 2.00pm. There's a Facebook event page
