Over the last 6 years, Sonafest, an annual festival of music held at the Sonachan Hotel, has raised over £55,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
This year is MacMillan Cancer's centenary year and they want to make Sonafest their main event in the Highland area, so it's going to be even more an occasion than usual. There's a sponsored abseil on the Saturday and a fire walk on the Sunday, just before Skerryvore play. Some of the Skerryvore boys are doing the fire walk, as is a well-known local builder. Ardnamurchan Estate are providing a deer to be cooked on the spit.
Other bands playing include Gunna Sound, Trail West, Torridon, Crooked Reel, Soviet and Donald MacDonald and the Islands.
Sonafest is on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July. Full details are at the Sonafest website, here.
