A Training Regime

Training ready for the sponsored walk in aid of the Kilchoan Playpark Fund continues apace. Over Easter, eleven fathers and friends will be setting off to cover the 96 miles of the West Highland Way but, beforehand, they have to get fit.

Training takes the form of long walks through the magnificent countryside of West Ardnamurchan. Amongst other routes, they have done Ockle to Arivegaig then to Salen; Kilchoan to the Lighthouse and back; Kilchoan to Portuairk, across the hill to Sanna and home; and, between times, they have been circuit training in Kilchoan Community Centre, cycling and walking after work.

This weekend the eleven walkers plan to tackle the 15 miles from Kilchoan to Fascadale, across the hill to Glendrian, and back to Kilchoan. This will be their last full-scale practice as a group before they start the West Highland Way on April 1st.

For any of you who would like to contribute to building a new playpark, you can do it here.
