If anyone had any doubts as to what a warm, tropical summer we are enjoying, they have to look no further than the cordyline in Geoffrey Campbell's front garden in Kilchoan, which has, for the first time ever, burst into luxuriant flower.
Cordyline species are native to Hawaii, South America, New Zealand, parts of Asia, New Guinea, the islands of the Pacific, Mauritius and Australia. Kilchoan is in good tropical company.
