A History of Achateny

The latest in the series of histories of the clachans of West Ardnamurchan is published today.  It tells the story of the clachan of Achateny, lost in the clearances of the mid-19th century.  The buildings were so thoroughly destroyed that the location of the clachan was lost, but it was recently rediscovered by members of Ardnamurchan Community Archaeology, who have started a survey and continue to work on the site.  The history is here.
