From Geoff Campbell:
On our way to watch the start of West Highland Week sailing we saw a very large dorsal fin which was evidently a basking shark. It was a gloriously sunny day with very little wind so, in no rush to see the sailing, we turning off the motor and waited. Basking sharks seem to be very curious creatures and it wasn't long before the dorsal and tail fins lined up and the shark was cruising towards us. We sat while two sharks milled around the boat, passing close by again and again. Fortunately we had an underwater camera on board and were able to capture some wonder shots including this short video clip:
Many thanks to Geoff for video clip and story.
