The Aurora We Missed!

Ewan Miles, who is a wildlife guide on Mull, took this photo looking across to Ardnamurchan at about 11.30 last night, long after Aurorawatch had indicated that the event was over.  We should have kept a check on....

....the Mull Willowbank Observatory's data, site here, which clearly shows the intense burst which Ewan photographed.

There's no doubt that one has to be prepared, like Ewan, to work very hard to get a good shot of an aurora.
