The only time the eight piglets are in their run is when they're fed. Immediately dinner's finished, they're through the electric fence, current or no current, and off into the fields of Ormsaigbeg, trashing the place.
They have absolutely no fear of dogs, and humans are there for them to chase. They patrol the road as if they own it....
....and regularly check the gates to our properties, looking for the slightest weakness in the defences.
These pigs are becoming feral. Shortly, we'll need to reclassify them as wild boar. Perhaps that explains why Hughie - their 'owner' - says there is a huge demand for them. Perhaps they're here in Ormsaigbeg to be trained to become wild and dangerous so he can sell them to the Estate. Perhaps the Estate will soon be offering wild boar hunting and pig sticking from horseback along with the customary stalking.
