Ships Join 'Joint Warrior'

We woke this morning to see this ship, the Portuguese cruise liner the Azores, steaming down the Sound and turning in to Tobermory Bay where she spent the morning.  A little later....

....we watched as the first of the larger naval ships came up the Sound on their way to join in the 50-ship exercise called Joint Warrior.  Sadly, we missed the first in line, but she was followed by this one, M109, the Royal Navy's HMS Grimsby, a ship we often see in these waters.

Behind her came the French mine hunter M642, the FS CassiopĂ©e, followed by....

....M614, FS Styx, a French mine countermeasures divers tender, and....

....A535, the Norwegian HNoMS Valkyrien, a support vessel for the Norwegian Coastal Combat Flotilla which has a strengthened hull so she can cope with ice.
