Chris Gane's postcard which appeared on the Diary a week ago - link here - shows the township of Achnaha. The accompanying photograph of the township today wasn't taken from quite the same angle, so....
....Tony Thain, who lives there, very kindly went out and found the spot from which the original was taken. He thinks that the photograph on the postcard dates to the years immediately after the First World War.
