From Janet MacColl, pictures from Calum MacPhail:
On Tuesday 21st May, two Kilchoan girls set out from Milngavie to walk the
West Highland Way for charity. Kayleigh MacGillivray (right), a PE student at Stirling University, needed to raise money for a forthcoming trip to Zambia where she would be teaching orphaned children during her 2013 summer vacation. Deborah MacColl (left), a health care assistant in Tobermory, was supporting the new
Scottish Charity Air Ambulance, which is to operate alongside the existing helicopter coverage.
The girls had five days in which to complete the 98 miles, which meant plenty of aching muscles and some magnificent blisters.
However, in spite of the problems, they finished on schedule and succeeded in raising approximately £1,000 each for their worthy causes.
Both Kayleigh and Deborah would like to thank everyone who sponsored and supported them.
A great effort

well done, girls
ReplyDeleteThe old man in the picture has more than a passing resemblance to Howard from last of the summer wine.

I'm told that Deborah's total has now exceeded £1,400 - well done!
