A Reluctant Return

Hughie had a busy day with his pigs yesterday.  First he came along and moved Bobby's electric fence, probably to prove that Bobby's his pig rather than The Diary's, but Bobby decided he didn't like the new patch of land so did a runner.  Sadly, The Diary wasn't around to record the event.

Bobby's unhappiness isn't surprising.  His new enclosure is an entanglement of bracken and brambles, which may be why, when Hughie returned later in the afternoon to bring Betsy back to her lover, she was none too enthusiastic about it either, refusing to leave the trailer.

Gentle persuasion having failed, a certain amount of physical encouragement was attempted, to no avail.  Betsy looked at the thicket that was to be her home for the next few weeks....

....and retreated back into the trailer, from where no amount or variety of encouragement would move her.

All this time Bobby was in a state of increasing excitement on the far side of the jungle, trying to get through to welcome his wife to their new marital home.  But when he finally made it, there was no further mucking around.

Betsy was chased out of the trailer in no time, much to Hughie's relief.

By this time, with all the vitamins he'd recently been given, Bobby had reached a state of considerable anticipation, but Betsy was obviously not over keen on starting the next family.  Well, would you be if your lover frothed at the mouth and you'd already had twenty children?

  3. Hi 'Anonymous 1' - yes, think I'll give up on all the history and other boring things I write about and stick to Hughie's pigs, they're so much more fun.

Hi 'Anonymous 2' - I, too, am fascinated by the movement of the pigs. They seem to put one leg in front of another in a very special order, and that's how they move. Will let you know when I've worked out the order.
