Gollum?

Is this just a very old frog, is it a rare species, or is it an escapee from a "The Lord of the Rings" film set?  It was found climbing a steep, heather-covered slope some distance from the banks of one of the Twin Lochans.

  1. Poor thing.
    Suspect it is common frog.
Which can vary in colour including black.

  2. Hi Sheila - Many thanks, I'm sure you're right that it's a rather emaciated, black common frog.

The website you've given as a link is well worth a visit - such a good layout!
