The First....

The first 'bacon and eggs' flowers are out in the disused quarry near Port Beag, though there seem to be more eggs in evidence than bacon....

....and the march marigolds are flowering, as they do each year, in the boggy ditch below the field where the first pigs were quartered....

....an area which is producing a fine crop of bracken. Either the pigs didn't do their job, or Hughie didn't leave them in there long enough. The field below the road, where they stayed much longer, has far less bracken.

Our superb weather continues - it was 14C at 8.00am this morning - but we'll be needing some of the Kilchoan variety of sunshine shortly as the ground and the burns dry out so quickly.
