Rare Goldcap Spotted

Goldcaps - not to be confused with gold crests or goldfinches - are probably Britain's rarest bird, so Les Humphreys was thrilled when he was able to photograph this one through his lounge window.

As Les was quick to point out when  he sent me these pictures, they only appear in the rare event of a....

....phormium happening to be in flower when a blackcap is passing.
