  2. From Joan and Rob Thompson:

Joan and I were very sorry to hear about Catriona and send our best wishes to all her family.

When we first came to Ardnamurchan, nearly 40 years ago, Catriona was the first person we met and her welcome has symbolised Kilchoan for us ever since. She was always supportive, friendly - and full of fun, as caught so well in your picture.

We shall greatly miss her on our return trips.

  3. From Gordon Mullay, Kirkcaldy:

I was so sad to hear of Catriona's passing, although I heard of her illness a few weeks ago. I had known her since 1970, when my parents first brought my sister and me to Kilchoan, and we stayed in her wonderful, relaxing B&B, Doirlinn House, which, I believe, she still also ran as the post office. Later on, in the eighties, I introduced my Austrian wife to Ardnamurchan, and we stayed several times with Catriona. It was always so enjoyable to chat with her about the area. She had such a vast knowledge of Ardnamurchan and its people. My family have returned to Ardnamurchan nearly every year since the 70s, and I always looked forward to meeting Catriona at some time during our stay. She will remain fondly in my memories as such a warm, patient, generous person. Kilchoan will not be the same without her.
