That Jelly's Back

Jon Shaw has sent in this picture of what is called 'star jelly', found near Achateny Farm.  He says, "It was a sizeable quantity, covering 8-10 inches in diameter in some cases.  I believe it is the 'premature spawn' of a toad or frog which has been unexpectedly caught and this is a last 'ditch' attempt to loosen the load to help escape."

The Diary published a picture of the same stuff back in February of last year - see post here - and, although there were several suggestions as to what it might be, it seems that experts are still uncertain.

Anyone feel like doing some research on it?

Many thanks to Jon for the picture.
