Aurora Alerts
There's a great deal of sunspot activity at the moment. There have been two aurora alerts from AuroraWatch in the last 24 hours, yesterday's an amber alert, and there's another alert now. Here in Kilchoan it's cloudy, and unlikely to clear, but there's an increased chance of an aurora in the next few hours if you're anywhere that has clear skies tonight.
The chances of seeing anything as spectacular as this photo, taken in Tromso, Norway, many thanks to Tromsø kommune, are small, but we saw an even more colourful display from the Ferry Stores about ten years ago.
