Sea Eagles Attack Livestock

From Morven MacPhail & Alasdair MacLachlan

These photos, taken by Alasdair, show clear evidence of a sea eagle attacking and killing one of the flock of geese he keeps on his croft at Achnaha. The photo above shows what was left of the goose....

.... while this shows a pellet formed of compacted goose feathers which the eagle regurgitated....

.... and this shows a sea eagle being chased off by a buzzard.

There are three sea eagles seen over Achnaha most days. To make matters worse, two geese have been taken by an otter, and traps Titch has set to protect his geese and chickens have caught two mink - both in the same trap.

We've contacted Scottish National Heritage and they say that they are powerless to do anything, and there is no compensation available even if all the geese had been taken by the sea eagle.
