My uncle did a lot of research in 1970s and now retired I am taking the opportunity of looking into them. He traced back our Cameron line to a James Cameron born in 1801 in Ardnamurchan. James' father was Donald Cameron and his mother Mary (nee Cameron). A bit of poking around on the internet and I see that a Donald Cameron and Catherine Cameron had a child, Chirsty, baptized in 1778 on 12 September in "Braynan outs". Is this possible a variation (or erroneous transcription) on the name for Branault (Bra-nan-allt)? Your opinion would be most appreciated. I am at a dead end here. A few years ago we made the move to Drimnin on Morvern just across the Sound, but continued to enjoy the goings-on in Kilchoan even though weather permitting we could almost see for ourselves. I now spend much of my time just like you madly running around trying to capture all that goes on in the area (wildlife, sunsets and boating activity on the Sound) as I now doing the Drimnin Estate Facebook page, I realise what a commitment you (& Mrs Diary) made trying to post everyday. So a big thank you for keeping us posted for so many years until we were able to see for ourselves. I hope that I am able to return the favour and from time to time you might enjoy a quick glimpse of this area.Living the Dream at lasthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17415435568169197823noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1885184849467086568.post-64447278169658770172017-10-03T10:19:30.156+01:002017-10-03T10:19:30.156+01:00We lived in the midlands and for many years follow...We lived in the midlands and for many years followed your blog while dreaming of moving to the west coast.
