This Year's Annual Events

There's an expanding list of events coming up this spring and summer on West Ardnamurchan. These include:

The Kilchoan Clean Up is on the morning of Sunday 27th March. Volunteers collect the rubbish which has blown onto the beaches during the winter gales, with the event ending at the pub.

The Kilchoan Half Marathon is on Saturday 28th May. Registration at 10.30am, start at 11am from Kilchoan Hotel. Run from the pub to the lighthouse and back. In the process take in stunning scenery, wonderful views, one or two hills and you get to see the most westerly point of the British mainland. No entrance fee, no prizes, just a lot of fun.

The first of the Kilchoan Producers Markets is on Sunday 29th May. After that date, the markets will be a weekly event. Bring and buy produce.

The West Ardnamurchan Show & Sports is on Friday 22nd July, 2016. Stock judging takes place in the morning, followed by races at 11am and a barbeque afterwards. A great day for all the family.

The Kilchoan Regatta is on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th July 2016, with sailing races taking place on the Thursday and the main events on the Friday. Open to all, races include rowing, kayaking, power boats, and a raft race. Ceilidh follows on the Friday evening.

The Kilchoan Pram Race, Friday 5th August 2016, features races for juniors and seniors, starting and ending at the pub.

The archaeologists of the Ardnamurchan Transitions Project will be working at Swordle again this year from 17th July to the 6th August 2016. There will be open days at the site, and a talk on one of the evenings. Volunteers are welcome on the site.

  1. Producers Market has been moved to the 5th June so it doesn't clash with the Mingary Castle bash... https://sites.google.com/site/kilchoanmarket/home
